We've been coming here for some time now, and every visit has been consistently excellent. The food is always fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented, but what really sets this place apart is the service. From the moment you walk through the door, you're made to feel genuinely welcome. A special mention has to go to Jazz, Supri and Sanju. Their friendliness, professionalism and attention to detail make every visit a pleasure. They always take the time to ensure everything is just right, and it's clear they genuinely care about their customers. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the food and the service are consistently outstanding, but this is definitely one of them. Highly recommended, and we look forward to many more visits. ~ Babysteps P
Nous sommes arrivés, un groupe de 10, sans réservation vers 21h. Il y avait déjà beaucoup de monde et les employés nous ont fait une table pour nous accomoder. Les service est excellent ainsi que le nourriture. J'ai adoré mes fish ans chips, les frites était très bonnes. Les prix sont plus que correct. J'ai aimé l'ambiance générale du resto. ~ Amélie G
Excellent place to eat or chill-out. You also have free access to a decent size pool. We were a party of 30, with an age range from 5 to 55, and was all catered for by John at the bar, Sam & Tommy in the Kitchen and Sarah waiting on us (and the rest of the customers). Nothing was to much trouble for Sarah, who handled a constant flow of food and drinks orders with amazing efficiency and always with a smile. Between us all, we ordered various items from the menu, everyone including the kids enjoyed their food. And all very reasonably priced. Situated between the old and new towns you don’t have to fight through the crowds, just a leisurely stroll to and from. Definitely worth a visit. Thank You team Fat Cats, especially Sarah. ~ N W
A Hi To Supi, Sanju, Jazz, Con e Pradeep: An absolute hidden gem in Albufeira! 🌟 From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant, welcoming, and bursting with great energy. The food and drinks were simply top notch, every single item we ordered exceeded expectations. What truly makes Fat Cats Bar unforgettable, though, is the phenomenal team. A massive shoutout to Supi, Sanju, Jazz, Con, and Pradeep for providing service that is genuinely second to none. They were attentive, incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make our experience magical with their warm hospitality and smiles. If you are in Albufeira, this place is an absolute must-visit. Five stars all around, we can't wait to come back! ~ Paula H
We visited this place on the third day of our holiday, and kept returning. Visit 1 for breakfast. This was delicious, quick service and the food was brilliant. Their tea is to die for!! Visit 2 was to watch the football- a treat for the hubby, the atmosphere was amazing. Following the football was the fun quiz by game master Joe, this was a highlight for us. Everyone gets involved, even the staff. Visit 3 was for dinner, again this was superb 👌 Visit 4 was football, drinks and quiz night our favourite night so far, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's our last day here in Albufeira and we're heading over for our last visit, we wish we had a bar like this near where we live but we'd probably become alcoholics 😂 We'd highly recommend coming here, the staff are really friendly, the food and drink are brilliant and the atmosphere is so much fun! Absolute gem of a place in Oura! We stumbled into Fat Cats on our first night and ended up coming back every single evening of our holiday. The atmosphere is just brilliant, but what really makes the place is the team working there. A massive shoutout to Jazz, Supi, and Sanju—you guys are absolute legends! Seriously some of the friendliest people we’ve met. Even when the bar was completely packed, they were so incredibly quick with the service and always had a massive smile on their faces. You're never left waiting long for a cold drink here. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and drop in. Top-tier vibes and cracking service. We’ll definitely be back next year! ~ 007 m
I am a local and residing in Portugal and have to say this is one of the best run establishments in Albufeira. The owner clearly looks at trends and the customer market to ensure they provide the right ingredients for a great atmosphere. One of the biggest plus points for this business is the staff who are hard working and always friendly even if you are a local, which sometimes other businesses forget during the peak season. I really cannot fault any staff but for me Supi, Jazz, Sanj and Aaron stand out in the constant great service. I have marked atmosphere slightly down because I do feel that sometimes large groups could be encouraged to be a little more respectful of other customers. ~ Gary B
Excellent British bar and restaurant. Extremely well run with a cracking bunch of staff. Frosted glasses for both beer and wine, big selection of gins. Food is varied but excellent, for breakfast try the bacon special for something different that’s delicious, the Korean bits are also extremely tasty. There’s an outdoor terrace with a swimming pool that’s available for use, so you have a beer and the kids a swim. Quizzes on throughout the week and a singer at the weekend, can’t fault it. Occasionally if it’s extremely busy you might get a slight delay, but your on your holidays so relax and enjoy ~ Jim h
Great food at a great place Sep 2024 Went here after trying their other place - Fat cats on the Marina 2 days earlier. Glad we did! More of a pub vibe, large bar, pool table. Still had a lovely seating area out the back. All the food was really nice. I had chicken curry. The wife and daughter had baked potato with chilli topping. My son had the sirloin steak. We all had chocolate fudge cake for desert, YUMMY. A couple of cocktails and couple of ciders and the bill was just over €100 euros, Can't complain at that. Try for yourself you won't be disappointed. They have theme nights as well. Quiz night, karaoke etc ~ Chris B
Brilliant family restaurant right on the quayside. Really good mix of food, we went for lunch and there was a large choice of snacks & main meals depending on what you needed. Very comfortable chairs with big cushions on. They have a wonderful misting system if you are seated outside over the marina, this made it very comfortable temperature wise. The staff were great and very attentive. I had the fish and chips that was utterly amazing, large fish lovely crispy batter and nice crunchy chips. Everyone had different food and no one had a bad word to say. I can also recommend the iced coffee. Have no problem recommending this restaurant. ~ David S
A Hidden Gem The sign says Family Fun Pub, but it is so much more! We sampled their delicious breakfasts, light snacks and tasty meals, which were always well presented and served up with a smile by the helpfull, friendly staff. Something for everyone here, from live sports, Karaoke and quizzes not forgetting the parrot and reptile shows for the kids. There is also a fantastic terrace at the rear, where you can enjoy the sunshine,with an ice cold beer and maybe have a dip in the pool. Search out this hidden gem of a bar and enjoy the friendly atmosphere! ~ Sunshine B
Absolutely stupendous watering hole with everything a group of mates need. From ice-cold Sagres to an Ultimate Super-Size Full English Breakfast, which one James W. Hunter described as "proper lush this like". A bar fit for a Sensei and Karate-Army, Fat Cats can make your dreams become a reality - forever etched into the ankle of Bones McCabe for eternity. And finally, their Asian Bites passed the taste test of Newcastle's biggest Chinese enthusiast, Marc Cowley. Congrats Fat Cats, this man is not pleased easily. Until next time... #UpTheWMJ ~ Mark E
Comida deliciosa y con platos con abundante comida. Tratan genial al cliente y además, cuenta con mesa de billar y distintos juegos con los que poder entretenerte una vez hayas comido. Los cócteles también están geniales y el precio es muy bueno. ~ Jesús D
Great little British pub in Albufeira. The fish and chips are really good served with a real white fish fillet and a salad in addition to the customary chips (french fries). We tried the beef roast on their Sunday menu. Simply excellent. It was served with Yorkshire pudding and lots of vegetables including creamed leaks which were delightful. Their Wednesday afternoon games event is fun. This Friday evening we am going to check out their karaoke. Service is prompt and their prices are reasonable. ~ John H
review: I’m a regular here and the staff really make the place. Supi is lovely — warm personality and attentive without being intrusive. Jazz steers the ship and the rest of the team — Sanju, Pradeep and Aaron — are just as good, the entire team is faultless.. always doing a proper job with no corners cut. Drinks and food are excellent, venue’s spot on with sports screens, a lovely patio and entertainment every day like quiz nights and live music. A great place to start your day or use as a base while on holiday in Albufeira, Portugal. ~ Chris P
Fantastic We was staying in a hotel just up the road from here & had been travelling all day so needed a quick bite then bed but the atmosphere, the frozen margaritas & the chilli nachos was that good that we stayed past our bedtime I've eaten & some of the best Mexican restaurants in London & these chilli nachos were on par with them & I will definitely be returning to Fat Cats before leaving Portugal, in fact I'm on my way there shortly for an authentic English breakfast. This is a fantastic place to visit when on holiday. Great food and drink very reasonable price and they always have Happy hours on. Great bar entertainment the pub quiz is great fun and Joe has been doing this for years he is very entertaining. They always have the latest sports on including all the main football games this place gets very busy when a big game is on so go early. The staff are always friendly and the manager Aaron is a fantastic person very welcoming. Highly recommended ~ Jake T
We spent quite a few days of our recent holiday to Albuferia here, the staff where brilliant & very helpful. Their pool is great for kids, they also have a wii with plenty of games for older kids to play & a few boxes of toys for smaller kids which is a great idea!! Plenty of large Tv's with sport on and the food in the place is great, the fish & chips with mushy peas is a must try by everyone!! We will definitely be back someday.. ~ Philip H
What a fantastic find. The team at Fat cats looked after me and my golfing mates really well at the start of September. Not pushy and just really helpful. We had some great nights in their drinking but also ate a number of meals here despite paying for half board at our hotel. Their full English breakfast was top quality too. Everything was served quickly and to a high standard. Really impressed and would thoroughly recommend this place. ~ Richard J
We tried the piri piri chicken and the burgers. The chicken was cooked well and had just enough spiciness. The burgers had an almost meatloaf texture and flavor, which was unexpected but still delicious. The fries were yummy and crisp and served with malt vinegar. The whole place had a great vibe and great music. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely return to try our more of the very large and diverse menu. ~ Matt C
Absolutely love this bar. It is probably our favourite bar to be at whenever we are in Albuferia. Aaron, Connor and all the guys and gals behind the bar are wonderful, warm and very friendly. The food and drinks are so good. The homemade cheeseburger and coleslaw are heaven (and I don't ever order burgers when I'm out). The chips and homemade curry sauce was amazing too. And anything on the menu can be made to take out . ~ angela h
Me and my daughter go to Portugal every year and our favourite place that we like to hang out is a fat cat. Always have the best time there the drink and food is amazing. I love going to my morning coffee and where I’m gluten-free, they have a lot of gluten-free options. To top it off, the staff is amazing and can’t wait to come back next year. Always delighted to spend time at Fat Cats! Good food and great service , staff are welcoming and friendly. A dam good breakfast and always something on the menu to tempt your taste buds! Oh! By the way the BEST pint of Sagres in Albufeira for a stunning €2:50 a pint. The staff are wonderful, ask for Jazz, Supi, Sujan and Arron. Look out for the bar twins Shorab and Jay, they should be on the stage, great guys! 😎😎😎 ~ David B
We found this great little bar just around the corner from our hotel and ended up coming back a few times during our holiday! The staff, including Aaron, Jayden, Jazz, Supi, Sanju and Sohrab were always really friendly and welcoming. There was something on most evenings, like quizzes and karaoke. The food was really good, and the prices were very reasonable too. I'd definitely recommend stopping by Fat Cats Bar if you're in the area! ~ Kimberly K
